The company L.G.Ran acronym for Luca Gnecchi Ruscone, the founder of the brand, was born almost by chance. In 2005, Luca visited one of the optical stores in Asmara, Eritrea, owned by his grandfather, who had lived in Africa from 1930 to 1970. It was in that very shop that Luca discovered eyewear from the colonial period, imported from Italy fifty years earlier.

The charm of these frames was so overwhelming that Luca decided to bring the pieces back with him to Italy. After extensive research, he managed to track down the craftsmen who had originally produced these glasses, starting a small-scale production while respecting the artisanal methods of the past. News of his discovery spread immediately, and requests for these exclusive models grew exponentially. This led Luca to expand production and begin selling his L.G.R. collections in the most exclusive boutiques across Europe.

The first collection was a real success, such as to win over stars of the caliber of Tom Cruise, Cristiano Ronaldo, Prince William, Gigi Hadid, Giorgio Armani, and many others. Today L.G.R. eyewear is sold all over the world, preserving the Italian values and craftsmanship of the past. Just think that the creation of a frame can take from 8 to 14 weeks.
