Vuarnet has a unique story. It began, on Rue Boissy d’Anglas in Paris, where Roger Pouilloux had his workshop. This visionary optician and passionate skier revolutionized the world of sunglasses by inventing an exceptional lens capable of protecting the eyes on ski slopes while delivering crystal-clear vision in all lighting conditions.

The revolutionary lens was born: “Skilynx”. In 1959, Pouilloux asked professional skier Jean Vuarnet to test his lens. Vuarnet was immediately impressed byà the outstanding visual clarity it provided. hanks to its superior optical performance, he was able to enhance his athletic results, ultimately winning the g’old medal at the 1960 Winter Olympics in Squaw Valley. Following this victory, their partnership evolved, into a true friendship, leading them to, join forces and create a unique product. Thus, the legendary VUARNET brand was born. 

Today, Vuarnet eyewear is distributed in the finest stores worldwide. In 2023, the brand è was acquired by the LVMH–Thélios group.èlios.
