Founded in Berlin in 2003, the first premises MYKITA were located in a children's daycare center, called Kita in German.  This inspired not only the name My Kita, but also the culture of curiosity and play.  It all started with a clear aesthetic vision and a willingness to do things for ourselves. MYKITA was born with the same independent and pioneering spirit that shaped its hometown of Berlin.

From the beginning, the decision was made to create in-house production and that is why the development of tools and processes to meet design requirements have become a principle of MYKITA\'s operation. Its modern manufacturing is the combination of specialized craftsmanship and new adapted technologies. In 2014 MYKITA moved into a historic building in the heart of Berlin Kreuzberg. Led by founder Moritz Krueger, the MYKITA HAUS team is a mix of people with different cultural backgrounds and individual talents who guide the product through every stage.

Every Mykita is made using a monoblock of surgical steel, a hyper-light and very resistant metal thanks to the high concentration of carbon inside. Furthermore, Mykita's avant-garde technology has led to the development of an exclusive patent: the temple opening and closing system through the exclusive “spiral” hinge. This allowed the elimination of fixing screws. Every detail is art for Mykita!
